The Chambal River weaves through Volcanic Rocks of the Vindyachal and the Sedimented SandStones of the Aravalli Mountain Ranges creating a Unique landscape we could call  THE GREAT CANYONS OF INDIA.

Gorge 1 Drop Dead

The Rocky Terrain and Dense Forests ,irrigated by the perennial Chambal River, was once home to Fierce Dacoits and few would venture into this Enchanting Region.

The sharp drop of the Rocky Cliffs is however a Nesting Haven for the critically Endangered Indian Vulture.

Looking down into the seemingly Bottomless Gorges left my Head Spinning or was I the victim of being Spellbound ?

What Year is this: most would say 2016. Sorry it is  the Year 2073 as per the VIKRAM SAMVAT Calender, followed to date in India.

The New Year 2073 begins today and is celebrated across India in the form of various Festivals. If you happen to Read Ancient Tablets in Stone as you travel through the Indian Sub Continent you will find the Years etched follow the VIKRAM SAMVAT calender.

What is Interesting is that today is as per  Hindu Mythology  the day the Universe was created: thus HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNIVERSE.

To celebrate the Birth of Nature I am sharing a series of Pictures which shows what appears to be a BEAM OF ENERGY FROM THE HEAVENS.

The previous Blog “The Enchanting Cursed River” was an introduction to an absolutely fascinating and Unique River Basin  in the Midst Of India.

The area is home to numerous endemic and unique species of Flora and Fauna which abounds on the Rocky Crags which tower majestically over a Vast River.

Some of which I was fortunate to see and will share with you as the days go by.

The charm of seeing Birds in their Natural Habitat whereby they have selected a location to Roost is magically Enchanting .

Spotting these Majestic Storks alongside a Cursed but Pristine River in the Heart of India was thus a splendid Stroke of Luck.

The Bishop Stork or Woolly-Necked Storks ( English),  Shwetakanth mahabak  ( Sanskrit), Ciconia episcopus ( scientific Name) are Storks endemic ( native) to the Indian Sub-Continent.

Can you spot them on the Tree
