myhandWith the pandemic, we’ve all been very focused on what we touch, particularly if we must venture out in public.  Even when the “quarantine” is over — many of us will be continually mindful of where our hands wander.  In folk magick, handing spell material and ritual work is sometimes called “setting your hands”.  When you set your hand on anything it becomes empowered.   Your skin cells actually penetrate the first energy layer of any object or person.  “What” the object or person becomes empowered with revolves around your emotions, the thoughts in your mind, and your abilities. When you realize just how energetically powerful your hands are in combination with your thoughts and feelings, a whole new world of magic will open up for you.

Anytime you work with your hands, you want to “set your hands” on the spell vehicle with an extremely clear intent that is not clouded…

Hail and Welcome!

You know, I had the most amazing evening!  Our Braucherei Guild had the pleasure of speaking with Jack G. Montgomery for over two hours!  I learned so much and he is such an amazing person!  For those who don’t know Mr. Montgomery, he is an author, a  Professor, a musician and so much more!  A student of the famous Lee Gandee — Jack surely knows what he is talking about when it comes to folk magick!  He has a new book coming out soon (I’ll let you know the details when I receive them) and if you haven’t had a chance to read his American Shamans — Journeys with Traditional Healers — don’t miss out.  You will love this book!

The wonderful thing about Braucherei and Granny Magicks is that these systems don’t depend…

And then the pandemic title wave hit.

I swayed…

In Braucherei, protection and healing practices were mainstays of their energy work.  And, let me explain — they didn’t see Braucherei (PowWow) as magick per se– they saw it as active prayer blessed by deity.  What seems silly to us now as far as medical need, could kill you if left untended back then.  Like a bee sting.  Today…
