Ingredient Spotlight: Eucalyptus

Very informative

Hello all!

I’m so excited to be starting the ingredient of the month spotlight. Knowing ingredients and what they are used for is the bread and butter of apothecary. I believe you can make better decisions about what you put in and on your body when you are educated about the ingredients being used in products.

It is sometimes referred to as The Fever Tree because of it’s antimicrobial properties that are very effective in fighting bacteria. In addition, eucalyptus trees are strong purifiers and impart an antiseptic effect on the air around it. It…

I had the opportunity of meeting the mom of one of my dearest friends for the first time back in 2014. She flew from Texas to New York to visit her son Richard and his husband Garrett for the first time since they married that Summer. It was the first and only Thanksgiving my husband and I celebrated in Fairfield, Connecticut before we sold our house and moved down here to Miami Beach. That holiday, my husband manned the kitchen, producing a southern feast for 30 that rivaled any dinner I had ever eaten, while I tapped into a hidden love and happily played bartender.

Knowing that my friend’s mom was coming to our house for the very first time, I wanted to welcome her with…

Book…STUCK ON EARTH…by David Klass

I didn’t take a picture of the cover because it was way too shiny:)  This is a book about a 14 year old boy who is hijacked by an alien, a snail-like creature, who moves in to his body in order to determine whether or not earthlings should be allowed to keep their planet.

It’s a fabulous riff on society today and it’s a lot of fun.  It’s for seventh grade and up but adults will like it as well.  It’s another book I picked up at the Library sale and I am SO happy that I did.  It’s right on target and I recommend it to everyone.
