We went to a neighbour’s house for belated Christmas drinks yesterday.

On a rainy summer’s afternoon we sat on the veranda talking and laughing and sharing stories. It was lovely.

And then it was magical.

One of my neighbours shared a memory of her early childhood. She thinks perhaps that she was about two years of age. She remembered being guided out of her body at night, and people would take her flying through the night sky. It was always such a shock when she would float down, down, down and back into her body again at flight’s end. She would lie in her body watching the room spin, and wishing she was back there, up in the air and free again.

How odd.

My skin prickled with goosebumps of recognition…

I’m sitting at the kitchen table yesterday morning, drinking my coffee and checking emails, when my husband comes in and says, “Go look in the bed.”.  I asked why, and he said, “Just go look.”

So, I get up and wander down the hall, wondering what the deal is.  I turn the corner into the bedroom, and this is what I find:

Here marks the end of an exciting week honoring the beautiful clementine! And to do so, I’ve got a little story I’d like to share with you.

Interesting things happen when we don’t expect them to, and it is during those moments when I am in awe at how the universe works. We all have bad days, and I was having one about two weeks ago when I inadvertently broke the tip off of a VERY expensive kitchen knife. I was beside myself, but instead of simultaneously falling into a dark pit of despair and exploding with rage, I decided to go for a walk.

I strolled up Collins Avenue here in Miami Beach for 20 blocks before I decided to return home. On my way back to the scene of the crime, I stopped by my local supermarket with no real agenda. Whenever I’m not sure about what I’m…
