Today’s magickal tip is a mental exercise that can bring you incredible rewards if you practice the technique! Let’s first consider the meaning of the words “Off” and “On”. Close your eyes and repeat the word “on”. How do you feel when you say that word? Open? At ease? Flowing? Roll the word over on your tongue. Breathe deep. Keep repeating the word. Take the time to analyze the emotions or thoughts that come to mind when you say the word, “on”. Now, let’s move to the word “off”. Close your eyes, repeat the word several times. How do you feel when you say that word? Shut? Tight? Closed?

Time to activate your Lucky Stars! Someone wrote me the other day that she “sure needed some luck right now!” So! Here are some Lucky Stars to color and cut out — use them in conjure bags, jar spells, dream pillows, and sachets! There is nothing luckier than those Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Signs! Make enough copies so that the whole family can have fun coloring in the designs.

Lucky Herbal Magnet Formula! — On a strip of paper (or your lucky star pic) write your needs. Roll the following ingredients in the paper — Brown Sugar, Diced Orange Peels, a dash of cinnamon, a sliver of hot pepper, and a bit of ginger! Add a copper penny OR a bit of copper wire. I love folk magick! One of my favorite projects at the change of the season is to make a Haint Zapper! Now, depending on who is doing the explaining, a Haint has many definitions. Lee R. Gandee (Strange Experience – Secrets of a Hexenmeister) told me (yes, I knew him) that a Haint was a spirit of anger or great distress manufactured, once upon a time, by a human being.
