Carnelian is a form of Chalcedony and usually forms in hues of red, orange, or a reddish-brown. When Carnelian grades into brown it is known as Sard. Carnelian heralds from the Latin word “carnis” and translates to “flesh”. The Egyptians called Carnelian “the setting sun”,and was used as an amulet for the protection of both the living and the dead.¹

Carnelian is one of those stones that screams “Action”. With its fiery energy, Carnelian is a projective stone. This stone stimulates whatever it touches. Carnelian is great in clearing away any negativity from other stones. It is said that Carnelian protects against envy, fear and anger.
