Thrashion: Retro style lamp shades made from recycled skateboards

Thrashion, the 100% skater own and run DIY business creating recycled jewellery out of broken and recycled skateboards, are creating a series of retro style lamps and pendants from decks.

The lamp shades and pendants borrow from modern, timeless design aesthetics and combine it with pieces of broken and recycled skateboards, giving the pendants and lamp shades a pop art feel.

Thrashion’s pop lamps are slated to be available this month, according to Thrashion’s Facebook page.

The stylish lampshades is the latest venture from Thrashion founder and designer, Nat Rigby. Nat Rigby set up the Cornwall-based brand in 2007 when pregnant with her son. Having always been passionate about recycling, the inspiration came to her after coming across her and her husband’s old skateboard decks.
