Color: Cat’s eye is translucent and often greenish-yellow, gray-green, yellow or grayish yellow. Fibrous inclusions produce a cat’s eye.

Geology: Chrysoberyl is a hard stone rating 8.5 on Moh’s Scale of Hardness. It is found in Sri Lanka, China and Brazil.

Historical Uses: Traditionally cat’s eye has been used to repel the evil eye, evil spirits, conspiracy and deceit. It was used to guard against poverty and when worn also protected the health of the wearer.

Physical Uses: Gemstones are made from cat’s eye. Wear or carry with you to aid overall health. Also worn or carried it can promote beauty and youthfulness. Scott Cunningham suggests making a beauty tincture by filling a green bottle with spring water, placing a cat’s eye within and setting in the sun for 3-6 hours. When the tincture is ready, remove the stone and wear it. Wash your face with the water every day until the water is gone. Aids eye diseases.
