EO® Products

EO®Products is a premium natural and organic body care company, centered around essential oils. Essential oils are the heart of and soul of every product that EO®Products makes, even creating the company’s name: EO®Products.  EO®Products is a family owned certified B Corps, putting people and the planet before profits.  All of their scents  are from essential oils and plant extracts: the company’s philosophy is that what we put on our bodies is as important as what we put in our bodies.  Using 100% post consumer recycled packaging wherever possible, all EO® products are free from synthetic fragrances, cruelty-free, gluten-free, GMO-free, and many of products are USDA organic certified.  The company has been an organic certified manufacturer since 2004, and is the first personal care company to be certified non-GMO in 2011.

EO®Products began in 1995 when founders Brad Black and Susan Griffin-Black were commissioned by Bloomingdale’s to develop five essential oil blends for the store’s holiday gift guide.  Thus began the creative process that would evolve over the next twenty years into hundreds of products researched, developed, manufactured and shipped from their 40,000 sq. ft. facility in Marin County, CA to millions of happy people across the world.  Employees are treated well and paid a fair wage.  Since EO® can’t be sure of working conditions in remote locations, they have kept their manufacturing under their own roof.

At EO®Products they research, develop, formulate, make and manufacture over 300 products right where they live – in Marin County, California.  From concept to formulation the in-house R&D team follows each product to completion, seeking out cutting-edge botanicals then carefully combining them with their tried and true formulas.

Like most pioneers, Brad and Susan didn’t set out to change the world. They just wanted to do business the way they thought it should be done. When they were mixing batches of soap in their 3 gallon stock pot, they weren’t thinking about being pioneers in the cosmetics industry. But, that’s exactly where their ideals would take them.

Susan and Brad wanted to work the way they lived; inspired, healthy, in touch with nature and generous. They had a simple vision, they wanted to live like they were retired. For them, that meant spending time with family and friends, not worrying about money and making sure they were leaving the planet in a way that honored their children and grandchildren. Brad and Susan didn’t think there had to be a separation between work, home and personal life. They believed in one life, one that valued transparency and trust.  Today the success of EO®Products is a resounding testimonial to the idea of doing right, doing well and being happy.
