Summer fashion trends for Women, Men and Children 2015
Keep it cool and light this Summer with Ravenhawks Magazine’s guide to summer fashion trends with an eco slant for the whole family
Denim
A staple for all the family is the denim jacket. Denim jackets are known for their versatility and can be worn as layers in the weeks leading up to the summer as well as an evening cover up during the summer months. For women, go for fit and form styles that give a flattering silhouette. Think Western style denim jackets in a light blue colour or bleached wash that can be teamed up with a dress, wide-legged linen trousers or palazzo pants. Check out Dutch brand Kuyichi’s Chelsea denim jacket for an ethical option. www.kuyichi.com
Longline denim gilets also make an on trend layer for your summer attire. Team up a longline denim gilet with a crisp white ribbed tank-top and a pair of leggings, worn with canvas trainers or pumps for a dressed down look.
Guys, look out for the iconic classics such as the Levi’s Trucker Denim Jacket or western jackets. These classics are timeless and go with any outfit and whatever color you choose to wear (salmon pink even). Team up a dark vintage denim jacket with a polo shirt and knee-length shorts or chinos. For eco friendly versions, check out G-Star’s Raw for the Oceans line and Nudie Jeans. http://www.nudiejeans.com and https://www.g-star.com

Chinos
Another classic known for its versatility are chinos, rivalled only by denim jeans, they fit every form and function. Fortunately, chinos no longer come in just khaki but an array of colours for men which can be teamed up with just about any look and feel. Team with a crisp white shirt for an office look and for a summer day out look for form and fitted styles. Check out organic and sustainable jeans brand, Monkee Genes.
Sporty touches are a clean, crisp trend for summer 2015. Think airtex bomber jackets teamed up with a slimline skirt or bodycon dress and canvas pumps for a sexy but casual summer look.
Bomber jackets for men come in a variety of shades and textures for that sporty cool look. Styles include the classic MA-1 flight jacket and retro. Look for suede textures for a jacket that can be worn for work and for nights out. Or satin and cotton for an everyday look.
Varsity-style bomber jackets are great cover ups for kids in the summer. Check out kids clothing brands such as Frugi and Noeuf, which stock a range of baby and kids clothes from brands all over the world, many of which are eco friendly. http://www.noeuf.com and http://www.welovefrugi.com
Red
Channel the colour of passion this summer and add a touch of red to your summer get up. Try a red jersey maxi skirt teamed up with tank top in black or statement stripes, another summer trend.
For men, try a lightweight knit top or crew neck jumper in red or in the more darker shades of red such as burgundy.
1970’s trends
The kick ass 1970′s makes a comeback on the summer fashion front this year. You don’t have to go all out on channeling the funkiest of all decades to date J Pick one item that is reminiscent of that era. Think kick flare jeans or chambray trousers that are full and wide. Team with a knitted top.
For guys, add a western style denim shirt to a pair of chinos to get in to the 70s vibe.
