Teagan Riordain Geneviene

Teagan Geneviene has a fabulous and fun blog, Teagan’s Books, where she shares interesting posts including her innovative “three things” stories in a serial format. Teagan is visiting me today to share a bit about her latest non-fiction book, Speak Flapper – Slang of the 1920s, and the three other books in her “Three Things” stories about flapper, Pip, and her friends.

Over to Teagan

Hi Robbie. Thanks so much for letting me visit your blog.

Many of your stories are written in the “pantser” way, Teagan. Could you tell my readers about that?

I’d love to, Robbie. A Ghost in the Kitchen – Three Ingredients 2 originally appeared on my blog, Teagan’s Books. As with the first two serials, The Three Things Serial Story, and Murder at the Bijou ― Three Ingredients 1, it was a spontaneously written, “by the seat of your pants” ( or pantser) tale.

Thistledown — Midsummer Bedlam book is ready to fly your imagination to new heights!

Ruby-topaz_hummingbird_flying in TobagoThistledown — Midsummer Bedlam by Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene (that’s me!) is a wildly whimsical tale of faeries.  However, lest you think you’re too old for that stuff, it also has a dark side.  For those who read the serial version here, I’ve added a little something to the ending that you haven’t seen.

To keep this book tour interesting, some of the bloggers helping share this launch will include individual character introductions for faeries named in their honor.  I hope you can visit them.  That said, let me tell you a little about the primary narrator of the story. (There are actually two, but if I tell you much about the other one, it could be a spoiler.)  Please allow me to introduce Bedlam Thunder.

Brother Love cover Jinx on phoneJinx on rotary phone next to “Brother Love – a Crossroad” on my Kindle.

I was so impulsive in deciding to quickly “bookize” the serial that I didn’t plan ahead for a launch or promotions.  So I begin by repeating my thanks to Sally G. Cronin for announcing Brother Love – a Crossroad at her blog earlier this week.

My weekend post included a give away of an e-book of the novella.  I numbered your comments and used a random number generator to select the winner.

… And the winner is….. Dyanna Wyndesong!

Dyanna publishes Ravenhawks Magazine.  Be sure to click over and say hello.

Meanwhile, I’ve just done a podcast.  The amazing Annette Rochelle Aben hosted me for a fun chat.  We discussed “Brother Love” and several other things.  I even brought her into my writing process by playing my three things writing exercise…

Warning Sign by Dan AntionWarning Sign by Dan Antion

Thanks for joining me for this walk to the crossroads.

This chapter comes with a couple of warnings.

Warning 1: It’s long.  I can hear some of you groaning.

Warning 2:  It’s the conclusion, the last chapter.  Now I hear the rest of you.

I didn’t know until Monday that Chapter 10 was the penultimate chapter, or I would have… well, I would have warned you.

My heartfelt thanks to Dan Antion of No Facilities for letting me use his wonderful photos throughout this series.  Dan went above and beyond the call as my collaborator for this story. He was always ready to get just the right image for each episode.  He was proactive, doing all sorts of photo shoots at antique stores, with birds, and at crossroads.  Plus, he patiently let me bounce ideas around, no matter…
