Tarot Decks (left to right): Haindl, Holy Light, and Hermetic Tarot Decks (left to right): Haindl, Holy Light, and Hermetic

I came across this tag on Greylady’s Hearth a while back and wanted to pipe in with my own post. It originated among the vlogs, like Kelly’s of The Truth in Story and Divinationary, among others.

First of all, it needs to be said upfront that I’m an Air sign, both sun and rising, and my birth chart is dominated by the presence of Air. I’m fickle and flighty and am always changing my mind. So the most I can say is I’m answering these prompts based on me right now and only right now. Ask in, gosh I don’t know, a year or heck maybe even next month and my answer could change. So there’s that.

The Magician, The Magus, The Wise One. The Magician is the creator. Manifestation. What is initiated into existence. What we put out into the world. The magician advises us to stand in our power. Sometimes, we have the right idea, but don’t always have a way to manifest it. When we get the magician, we are being urged to utilize our skills. When representing an aspect of the client, it’s one of intelligence, wit, and cunning. Being a step ahead is key. Many will attribute the Magician to the planet Mercury, however, I see it more fitting with the…

Sometimes we are just not in full possession of all the facts. Whenever we see the Fool make an appearance, we need to take heed to certain signs around us. A change in perception. Using caution before we leap is the main key here. Mistakes, errors in judgement, lack of experience usually characterize this card.

Some readers see this as a new beginning or maybe as daring to take a risk. In the Rider-Waite deck I could see where the positive connotations to this card could be seen. However, upon close inspection we are fooled by the appearance of this card. Which makes an interesting point. Appearances can be misleading. Are we the Fools or are the ones being fooled?

We sometimes just have to call a spade a spade. The Fool is indeed a fool. As we know, depending on where this fellow lands, determines where he fits into the…
