How to Care for a Freshly Cut Christmas Tree

I thought I would share this with those who put up a live Christmas/Yule Tree. Mine is currently sitting in a basin of water leaning against the wall near the front door. As luck would have it I am sure when I get ready to go outside and bring it in it will have leaned all the way across the front door. That means I have to go out the back door walk around the house in the frigid weather and set it up so I can open the front door. Then race back in through the back door through the house to the front door in time to catch it before it does that leaning across the door again. My Yule season has begun.
