Faunus (Roman)

Also known as: Fauna, Fanus, Fauni [plural] Faunus, Pan [Greek].

Faunus was one of the oldest Roman deities. he is God of crops, God of Fertility, Inventor of herding, hunting, and husbandry. He is also Protector of agriculture and shepherds. Fanus is the grandson of Saturn, the nephew of Juno, the son of Picus the prophet and demigod. His companion is Fauna [also known as Bona Dea], a fertility goddess and goddess of animals. Faunus is identified with the Greek Pan.
