contre jour

Contre Jour has been out for a while, but having recently got back into playing games on my phone, I decided to download this game again.
Contre Jour is a bit more than just a game. It’s an experience to say the least, which you get to fully immerse yourself in. There’s serene music, beautiful graphics and taxing game action on offer, if that’s the kind of fodder you like when it comes to gaming action.
A cross between gaming and sophisticated art graphics, Contre Jour showcases the interplay of light and darkness.
The gamer is in control of the character, Petit, who you have to propel to safety through different landscapes. Using your fingers to morph the landscape, you have to pull, swipe and tap gadgets such as tendrils or geysers, portals and pulleys to complete puzzles.
The app, developed by Chilingo, has a chilled-out soundtrack by David Avi Leon, which makes for a peaceful gaming experience that isn’t up against a timer.
As you plough through the various landscapes, the gaming gets more difficult, and the more you play, the more levels you unlock.
Contre Jour is a good game if you like puzzles, and the artistic graphics and mood music makes for an all-new different gaming experience that takes you away from the time specific games. Definitely one for those chilled-out gaming moments that you can finish at your own speed, and if you like a challenge, Contre Jour is sure to deliver.
Available from Apple App Store and Google Play
