The Armadillo Files

The Armadillo Files by Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was a quirky, fun read. I enjoyed Dilly and Tatu's adventures as they time traveled during World War II. Their adventure started in 1959 when Dilly Faraday, a NASA intern, went in search of her pet pink fairy armadillo named Fang … Continue reading The Armadillo Files

Fungus mushroom Tim PricePhoto by Tim Price

You’ve reached The Armadillo Files.  Stand by for a wild and crazy ride.

When mentioning my weird imagination, more than a few people have asked me if I was doing drugs, specifically the psychedelic kind. After this chapter you might ask the same question. The answer is “No.”  Although lately I’ve been intrigued by the healthful properties and nutritional aspects of some of those fabulous fungi.  Since I’m not on medication, I sometimes look for natural things to help with my PTSD anxiety issues.  Lion’s mane mushrooms sounded promising, but I haven’t noticed any results.  However, they’re super-cool looking, and that got into this chapter.

Photographer Tim Price at Off Center & Not Even let me use some of his beautiful mushroom and fungi photos for a serial in the past, and I’m featuring them today.

Dilly & Fang go western, by Teagan GenevieneDilly & Fang go back in time, image by Teagan

You’ve reached The Armadillo Files.  I’m sorry that I’ve been absent from your blogs and social media.  Similar to most of my characters I have… issues.  Lately it’s been harder than usual for me to deal with them.  Thanks to those of you who asked offline about me and about Crystal. The vet said she looks great for 15, but that her bloodwork showed early onset of kidney disease.  I will keep a close eye on her, to make sure that she continues to feel okay and have a good quality of life. It’s not something I will mention again — that’s one of my issues. Onward.

Random Reader Things

Today’s random reader things are from a marvelous reader — Ginger.  She doesn’t have a blog, but she’s great about being part of my serials.  She…

Early Lucille 3 copyYoung Lucille Ball as Pip

Welcome back to Jazz Age Wednesdays.  I planned to do a cover reveal today, but something came up to take me out of the blogosphere for a day.  So instead, I’m sharing a short story I wrote two years ago.

Back then one of author John W. Howell‘s hilarious lists of what not to do gave me the “things” for this story.  Those random things for this pantser story were Counterfeiting, Timeand Hollywood.

This is a “hump day” rerun of a short adventure with our flapper, Pip.  She’s at the Bijou Theatre, and things get weird…

In the Pip of Time

Aelita_1924_still_04“Aelita, Queen of Mars” was playing at the Bijou Theatre.  I was brand new in town and my pal Alastair Wong invited me to go to the show with a group of his friends…
