Copper w ChalkboardWelcome to Hidebound Hump Day!  I call it hidebound because Victorians are sometimes described that way.  It might be hard to decide who the “hero” of this story is, but everything revolves around Cornelis Drebbel.

I suppose Cornelis is a bit of a tortured soul, due to the accident of alchemy that put him in the unusual state I gave this fictional version of the real life scientist.  With that segue, I’m going to digress for a moment.  Here’s a congratulatory shout-out to Staci Troilo who has just launched a new book!  Tortured Soul is the latest in her fabulous Medici Protectorate series. Be sure to check it out.

Tortured Soul PromoBack to business… Thanks for being at the station for this rerun of Copper, the Alchemist, and the Woman in Trousers — a steampunk serial with a Victorian setting.  I’m posting episodes twice a week, so I hope…

Cover Copper Alchemist Woman n TrousersIf you saw my Wednesday post, then you know that I’m trying to lighten my workload for awhile.  To do that, and to prepare you for what will eventually be coming next, I’m re-running a past “three things” style serial.  It’s Copper, the Alchemist, and the Woman in Trousers — a steampunk serial with a Victorian setting.

For what does that prepare you?  After I’ve finished editing Atonement in Bloom and doing some book-izing work for the Pip-verse, I will begin an all new serial — The Skull of the Alchemist.  Another three things, pantser story with you, dear reader, providing the random things!  That new, eventual story will be a follow-on to these reruns.

Previously with Copper, the Alchemist, and the Woman in Trousers

Marge at LOLAsMarge Tipton at L.O.L.A. Lola’s

Welcome everyone.  You’ve entered my sanctuary.  Today we’re visiting Atonement, Tennessee.  I know it can be hard to find your way to a fictional town.  So, let’s have lunch at the local diner, L.O.L.A. Lola’s.  I want you to meet the owner, Marge Tipton.

Marge’s part in Atonement, Tennessee is quite small, but she comes back for book-2 with a somewhat bigger role.  I thought it would be fun for you to meet some of the resident of the quirky town.

Actually, I wrote this vignette a few years ago.  So while I try to finish the edits to Atonement in Bloom (I know you must be as tired of hearing me say that as I am of saying it but…) I’m giving you a rerun.  I hope you don’t mind.  This little slice of life was done in my “three things”…
