Beautiful!

Today the weather has been a bit warmer.  Although I’d love to say we are complete done with spring cleaning – I still have more to do.  Trying to weed out clothes the kids no longer wear and things that have overstayed their purpose.  Besides that, I am hoping to go outdoors and get out in the sun.  I am hoping that we can go hiking this weekend, I miss the mountains.  Last year we tried to “break in” my son.  It takes a bit, but the first time you go, they often want to be carried at some point.  He’s around 50 pounds so that is not happening 🙂  We’ve gone hiking a bit in fall and he did an excellent job and the walk really held his interest.  I love that I can share my love of the outdoors with them.  Strangely enough, while his younger sister and…

All along the GR34 encircling the whole Brittany the landscape is stunning. From Saint Malo to Saint Brieuc the walk follows the dramatic Emerald Coast, the famous Frehel Cap, the outstanding pink cliffs of Erquy. These Natural sites have been on Unesco List since the 70s.

The Frehel heathland

Spreading over 400 hectares the Frehel heathland is preserved and protected and offers a great variety of environments. The scientists and nature lovers consider it as a giant vegetal lab. (short heathland on the cliffs, gorse and heather moorland on richer grounds). On top of the cliffs can also be observed a few flowers that cling to the rocks with deep roots whereas their leaves in tuft can store humidity.

Spent the entire weekend spring cleaning.  It’s not my favorite thing in the world, but necessary and truthfully, there was a “spring” in my step.  I felt so renewed going to the gardens last week.  It was a welcome getaway.  We are thinking to go again this week as well, when the weather is nicer.  It has been nice, by the way, but some days will be hotter than others and I like to take images when the sun isn’t scorching hot 🙂  I still have photos to share, so don’t worry – but I do hope to take many more!

Okay, it is official… we are crazy.  You have to understand though – I homeschool.  I spend all day long (every day) with the kids and spend my time in front of a computer, moving from one child’s work to the next.  I don’t get out as much as I would like and sometimes, yes – even a walk around the block is a luxury I can’t afford.  It’s not a complaint, but I have my limits…  So yes, we actually finished school and then went for three straight days to the botanic gardens nearby.  Three straight days.

I truly need to get outdoors.  It is where I find myself most at peace and I can feel relaxed.  The troubles of my day, the sorrows of the world around me fade away and all I can see are blue skies stretching toward the horizon, I feel the breeze, I listen…
