I know I’ve been quiet lately.  The kids were all sick for over a week (fortunately not all at the same time) but instead spread out so that each of them complained about dying 🙂  Somehow, I was fortunate enough not to get sick, despite all their effort in coughing and sneezing all over me, leaving tissues all around the house and the like.  It was a “fun” two weeks, not to mention our first two weeks back to school.  I had a hard time convincing them to work on anything.

My youngest child turned to me as serious as he could be and stated “I’m ruined.”  He had such a sad look in his eyes.  I sat next to him and said, “Why?”  He explained “I’m sick and I can’t go out to play.  I am ruined!”  So, I guess I shouldn’t be complaining because it wasn’t as bad…

This week’s photography challenge at The Daily Post is distraction.  If there’s every something I would think I am an expert in it is that very word.  It is not to say that I am distracted to the point of getting nothing done (well, I have my days!), but I am always noticing things that beg a closer inspection.

I think that if anyone has followed my blog for even a short amount of time, they would say I am enamored with the beauty of flowers.  See how well you know me!  I’m touched 🙂  I don’t know when this started… or perhaps it always was this way, but I really do feel an affinity with the flowers I see.  I can’t explain why, exactly, but I see something in the tilt of their petals, in their reach for the sun.  I don’t necessarily feel that I understand them…
