Mabon Activities for Family, groups and solitary

Mabon Activities

In the past Mabon activities were usually family or group orientated because harvesting was usually an event that required the entire family or community to get it completed. It was important to have the harvest done before the cold and rainy weather set in that could ruin the crops. Mabon was also the time in which the ladies of the community gather to quilt; the quilting bee is a product of this season when the ladies gathered in a group to work on one woman’s quilt.

Today ladies may still gather to work on a single quilt, you can organize a quilting bee it would be appropriate to do this for a friend who is expecting a baby, to do this to donate to an elder care center or to a homeless shelter.

The idea behind Mabon activities is to encourage a sense of family or community. Activities that include family are appropriate, this is the season for sharing the bounty of the harvest look for activities that you can do with family that will benefit your community. Visit your nursing homes, homeless shelters; share your time and your energy,
